The length of the flag should be at least 1/4 the height of the pole. When flying a single flag use this chart as a minimum size for the largest flag on your in-ground pole. To fly two or more flags: multiply the total length of all flags to be flown by 4, it is recommended this total should not exceed the height of the pole.

For a house mounted flagpole a 2.5x4' flag on a 5' flagpole, or a 3'x5' on a 6' flagpole is recommended
